Kenya’s Ministry of Health has confirmed the country’s second case of Bundibugyo Ebola virus disease. The patient is a close family member of Kenya’s first confirmed Ebola patient. The man was already in quarantine and under daily monitoring when he developed symptoms on 13 October 2026. He experienced fever, fatigue and joint pains. Health workers isolated him and collected samples for testing. The samples tested positive .

The Ministry of Health urged Kenyans to seek medical attention if they develop symptoms such as fever, unusual tiredness, muscle or joint pain, vomiting, diarrhoea or unexplained bleeding.
