EPRA Raises Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene Prices

Kenya’s Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has raised the prices of petrol, diesel and kerosene for the new pricing period beginning 15 October 2026. The new prices will apply until 14 November 2026. Petrol has increased by KSh12.93 per litre, while diesel has risen by KSh9.90 per litre. Kerosene has recorded the largest increase, going up by KSh28.49 per litre.

Based on the previous Nairobi prices, petrol rises from KSh214.03 to about KSh226.96 per litre. Diesel increases from KSh217.86 to about KSh227.76 per litre, while kerosene rises from KSh191.38 to about KSh219.87 per litre.
The increase will affect motorists, public-transport operators, businesses and households. Higher petrol prices will increase the cost of operating private vehicles, taxis and motorcycles. Diesel is widely used by buses, trucks, farms, factories and generators, so its rise may increase the cost of transporting food and other goods.
The large increase in kerosene prices is likely to affect low-income households that use kerosene for cooking and lighting. Families may have to spend more on their daily energy needs, putting additional pressure on household budgets.
